Frequently Asked Questions
  1. In what geographic areas will you perform work?

PSP has completed projects up and down the East Coast from Chicopee, Massachusetts to Chantilly, Virginia and as far west as Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our main areas of operation are Pennsylvania, Maryland, Northern Virginia, Delaware and New Jersey. Our system is very mobile and we will aggressively entertain any opportunity that require the removal of significant quantities of floor covering.

  2. What kind of materials can your system remove?

Carpet, vinyl tile, linoleum, tar paper, heavy glue and wood.

  3. Can you remove ceramic/quarry tile, marble and scrape epoxy?

Yes; however, ceramic/quarry tile must be in a thin-set base.

  4. We work in many occupied facilities, how noisy is your system?

Our power source is located outside the building in an enclosed trailer. This results in no engine noise in the work area!

  5. We have had problems with "exhaust fumes" with other flooring removal contractors. Does PSP experience this problem?

Our system is powered by a four-cylinder turbo charged diesel engine which is located outside the building in an enclosed trailer . This results in absolutely no "exhaust fumes" in the work area.

  6. Our current flooring removal contractor requires that we have a 220/3 phase pigtail available upon mobilization and if there is no power available at the facility we are required to rent a generator. What does PSP require in the way of power?

Nothing! PSP provides it's own power source. Many contractors fail to include this cost in their comparison of square foot pricing.

  7. I need to be able to quote projects on a daily basis, can you give me some bogies I can work with?

Obviously each project has specific parameters such as material and adhesive type, location and access to the work area, foot print of the work area, quantity... etc., but for the most part VCT and carpet pricing range from 15 to 20 cents per square foot for ground floor work. Other materials need to be reviewed by a representative.

  8. Do you have quote sheet that I can use to provide PSP with the project specific information it needs to submit pricing?

Yes, you can download the Quote Sheet (PDF) by clicking here.

  9. PSP states in it's brochure that production averages 8,000 to 10,000 square feet per day. What gives your system superior production rates?

PSP utilizes a hydraulic system which is powered by a four-cylinder turbo charged diesel engine which is located outside the work area in an enclosed trailer. The engine in much larger than those used by our competitors. This remote power source gives PSP's working unit superior speed and maneuverability. The production rates given in our brochure are for VCT and carpet (since these item make up the bulk of our removal projects).

  10. How much lead time do you need to schedule work?

PSP is capable of "same day" mobilization; however, contracted work that is scheduled will take precedence over "emergency" requests. Typically, one weeks notice is sufficient; but the more advanced the notice, the easier the scheduling.

  11. Much of the work I do is Time and Materials, can you provide me a daily rate?

Yes, PSP's Minimum Daily Rate is $2,500.00.

  12. Can you remove rubber gym floors?

Yes, both poured and seamed materials.

  13. Can you provide pricing for both tile removal and shot blasting services?

    Yes.
